Dr. Kaisa van der Kooi is a board certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon. In conjunction with Dermatology Associates of Tallahassee, our skin cancer management team, consisting of experienced, board-certified dermatologists, fellowship trained MOHs surgeons, and plastic surgeons available for repair of MOHs surgeries, work diligently to detect, treat, and prevent any and all forms of skin cancers. We utilize the latest treatment methods to ensure the best care for acne, rosacea, dermatitis, warts, eczema and many other skin diseases.

Kaisa van der Kooi, MD

Dr. van der Kooi received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences from Grand Valley State University in 2001. She received her M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan in 2005. She completed her internship at Oakwood Healthcare System in Dearborn, Michigan in 2006. She completed her residency in dermatology from Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center and Johns Hopkins Hospital in 2009. She completed a fellowship at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida in Dermatopathology in 2010. Beginning in December, she will be welcomed by Dr. Armand B. Cognetta to our Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology fellowship program sponsored by the FloridaState University College of Medicine for 2016-17. Dr. van der Kooi has completed several publication and presentations in various dermatological treatment methods. Her career aspirations include increasing her knowledge and experience in detection and treatment of skin cancer as well as other conditions of the skin. Dr. van der Kooi also has an interest in skin rejuvenation and anti-aging techniques.
